Health and Care Ambassador Programme Development Session

On 18th November 2024, Healthwatch Stockton-on-Tees hosted a development session for Health and Care Professionals to come together to discuss the planning of the Health and Care Ambassador Programme.

Senior representatives from Stockton Local Authority, University Hospital Tees, NENC Integrated Care Board (ICB), Stockton Public Health Team, Catalyst (VCSE) and other services, including Brook and Bridges, came together to help shape plans to support people to access valuable health and care information in a meaningful way embedded in the heart of communities.

There was clear recognition from all attendees that the voices of the public were of paramount importance in shaping this programme and that by working together we can learn new approaches to reaching our communities, in a valuable and meaningful way.

Using information gathered from our communities and via our information and signposting function, Healthwatch Stockton-on-Tees will be planning a series of sessions that will put service users and their needs at the heart of planned engagement.

Over the next few weeks Healthwatch Stockton-on-Tees will be continuing to develop the Team of Health and Care Ambassadors and plans for next steps.

All information gathered anonymously from sessions, will be compiled into a report and shared with professionals and decision makers as we look ahead at new ways of working, ensuring the needs of our communities are embedded in future planning.
